Harmful bacteria on tomato and pepper plants

Growing For Market

AgriPhage, a product that controls harmful bacteria on tomato and pepper plants, has been approved by the Organic Materials Review Institute for use on organic crops.
AgriPhage is produced from a scientific process designed to isolate, and then concentrate, naturally occurring bacteriophage. Bacteriophage, also known as “phage”, are beneficial viruses that destroy specific harmful bacteria on contact. Bacteriophage are non-toxic to plants, animals, humans or beneficial organisms.
AgriPhage is available for the control of bacterial spot or bacterial speck, with specific formulations for strains of Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria, or Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato. Univeristy research and growers report that it is more successful than copper, which often results in bacterial resistance.
It is correct to pronounce ‘phage’ as either ‘faj’ (rhymes with ‘dodge’) or ‘fage’ (rhymes with ‘cage’). It is also appropriate to refer to them in plural context as either phage or phages (pronounced either way). For more information: http://omnilytics.com.
