About the event
Learn about techniques for farming and gardening, pick up unique gift
items, see great demonstrations, and learn to keep land productive and
sustainable. The theme for 2009 is "Education is the Key to Success"
Speakers this year include Mark Kastel, cofounder of the Cornucopia Institue and nationally known organic expert and John Ikerd, professor emeritus of ag economics and Small Farm Today columnist.
There will be more than 35 Farmer's Forum talks, 16 seminars and 6 short courses, all taught by successful farmers. Ideas and information on income opportunites for tradtional and alternative farm enterprises are covered. Seminar topics include poultry, water, soil fertitity, organics, marketing, berries, alernative crops, cover crops, dealing with the government, and conservation planning.
