Potatoes are a rewarding crop to grow, with a lot more flexibility about planting dates than the traditional instruction to plant on St Patrick's Day might have you believe. Here I'm going to write about the useful technique of pre-sprouting, and also how to calculate the range of possible planting dates for your area. This article won't cover every aspect of growing potatoes, just these topics which are not always mentioned in gardening books.
