flowersWhen Steve and I began farming, crop choices were all trials. Figuring out how much and when to plant was just a guessing game. We based our planting plans on what we had read and learned during our apprenticeship with a flower farmer. We stored information in our heads, expecting to remember everything. As our crop menu grew, we started taking notes. Each year our recordkeeping has gotten better, but the most monumental thing we have done for ourselves was to create a full crop   plan and follow through with it.
