BikeAn often overlooked vehicle on the farm is the bicycle. Bicycles are an incredibly efficient, relatively inexpensive way to get from place to place, especially when the distances are under a mile. On small and mid sized farms I often find myself walking distances in the range of a quarter mile to a mile multiple times per day. This takes about 5-20 minutes walking, but only 2-6 minutes on a bicycle at an easy pace. Bicycles, well used, have the potential to save hours of walking time on the farm every day.
